Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Gio and I were horrible at getting Christmas cards out this year so I thought that I would just post something instead! This year has been great, Some of the highlights were moving into our own apartment. That has been the best thing for me! I need my space and living with the in-laws is never easy! I had the oppurtunity to vistit Ryan, Rachel and Mia in Denver and that was very refreshing. I also went on a girls weekend with my sisters to St. George which is a tradition I would like to continue. Gio has been busy with the salon all year. The stress gets to him every once in a while but he has an amazing attitude and keeps things under control for the most part! He has been traveling with some of the stylist at the salon teaching classes to hair schools and he really seems to enjoy that. He also has been teaching at Paul Mitchell the School and loves what he does. We celebrated our 1 year anniversary in November and we are excited for the coming years together.

I love christmas time for the spirit that it brings. My family is the most important thing to me and it seems at Christmas we are closer than ever. I love giving gifts and the warm feeling that it brings. I am so greatful for our Savior who made it possible for us to be with our Families forever. That brings me such peace and joy. The love I have for each member of our family is so great I can only imagine what it will feel like when I have my own children. My family is everything to meand I just wanted to let them know that. I am so greatful to have the family that I do , I'm the luckiest person in the world!

The pictures I posted are from previous Christmas' I cherish all the memories of my childhood and can't wait to relive them through my own children!

This is Gio and I on our honeymoon last year,
I used this picture for our Christmas card in 2007.

Christmas P.J.'s have always been a tradition. Opening them on Christmas eve so we looked cute on Christmas morning!!!

This Picture cracks me up... This was the Christmas before Ryan and Rachel got married. Ryan got Rachel that Sleeping Beauty doll for Christmas and since she was going to be in Michigan she left the doll with him so he wouldn't forget about her I guess... Anyway she wanted him to prove his love for her so she told him that he had to carry the doll on Christmas morning and get pictures!! He must really love her! And I'm glad because I have an awesome sister-in-law!! Love you Rachel! (ps if i told the story wrong Rachel sorry thats all I remember!)

This is Me and Brittany at our Monson Christmas party.

WE WISH YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

LOVE,

SHERRON AND GIO

Happy Thanksgiving!

I was put in charge of Pies for Thanksgiving with my in-laws. Well I refuse store bought pie it's just not the same so I called my Mom for help! I watched my Mom make pie my whole life but I have never officially made my own pie until now! I think I did well! My Mom thought it was funny to throw flour in my face I looked pretty messy by the end! It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be and I had a great time with my Mom!!!
Being an adult isn't so bad I guess....!

I made Pumpkin and My favorite... My Mom's Cherry Pie!

Kung Fu Panda!

Last week Gio had to dress up like a super hero for school. Every November they have what's called "Caper Kick-off." Caper is a big hair event in Vegas that the students can work towards going to. They have to participate in all the events and they sale bag deals with product to earn money for the ticket. Because Gio is an instructor he is required to participate in order to go as well. He really wanted to because last year he wasn't able to go because during Caper kick-off we were on our honeymoon so he didn't fulfill the requirements. Last Wednesday night he called me at about 8:30 in a panic because he had been at Taylormaid for about 2 hours trying to find a cheap superhero costume and nothing fit. They were still out of a lot of costumes because of Halloween. I was immediately irritated of course because that ment I would be up all night trying to create something. He thought that he could be and invisible man wearing all black with a nylon on his head, but I thought that was lame. I immediately thought of Kung Fu Panda... Here's why. In the last month Gio has been bleaching his hair so that it is silver, well it was a process of course with his jet black hair. When he started his hair was the same color as Winnie the Pooh and all of his students started teasing him about it. He wasn't very happy about that (even though Pooh his his favorite Disney character!) Well once he got the color the way he wanted it that died but the Kung Fu Panda started! Gio was eating Chinese food one day for lunch with chop sticks. They started teasing him about it saying that he thought he was so cool for using chop sticks etc. Then someone said, You look like Kung Fu Panda right now... eating with chop sticks, white hair, brown skin, and he happened to be wearing a white shirt with a black vest and black pants! The rest of the day everyone was singing "Everyone was Kung Fu Fighting!" He was a little annoyed with it and that is why I thought it Would be perfect for him to dress up like him! He came home that night and we had to wait for the home teachers to come and go so we didn't get to Walmart until about 10pm. I was exhausted already but we stayed up until 2am making his costume.. we hot glued the whole thing and Gio sewed on his ears! It was actually really fun. When he went to school that day he walked in with the kung fu fighting song playing on his phone. Everyone hit the floor laughing because they never expected it. He ended up winning an award for the best costume! I think that he looks awesome. He is a big teddy bear at heart so I think that is why I love that he really looks like a bear!

Oh Christmas Tree!

This is Our Christmas tree this year! I have been begging Gio for a few weeks to let me put it up and he said i had to wait until Thanksgiving. I couldn't!!! We were watching TV on Sunday evening and I felt really lazy, I wanted to do something productive but the only thing I could think of was to clean my disaster of a house. I really was not motivated to do that so instead I made a bigger mess and ripped out all my Christmas decorations! I was up until 2 in the morning decorating the tree! Although Gio wanted me to wait another week he decided to be supportive and force himself to stay awake while he watched me fuss with the tree! I would have prefered his support in helping me clean up the mess but oh well! He thinks that I'm a little crazy wanting to decorate so soon but it gets you in that holiday mood! Plus I don't ever remember a Thanksgiving at my house without the christmas tree up, So as my Mother would put it, "That's how I was raised!" Christmas to me is the best part of the year, it is the season of giving and it's when our family is the closest! You can't get better than that. (I also get 10 days off this year! I can't wait...no work woohoo!)

Back To School!!!

So Gio and I have decided to head back to school! I never imagined that this would happen and I've been telling myself that I would never go back but I enrolled and it's official!
It all started this summer when a couple of my co-workers were signing up for fall classes and talking about how many credits they had. I brought up the fact that I had went to school for 4 years and I and still no degree. We looked up my credits and I had 121 and most degrees only need about 126. My friend Maddie ripped me a new one and told me that I was completely stupid if I didn't finish. I started thinking about it and she was right. I went and talked to an advisor and because I had only taken a couple of upper-level courses I would need about 45 credits to graduate with a bachelors in psychology.
Realistically that could be done in 3 semesters maybe 4 if I don't pass so that is what I'll be doing for the next year! I decided that doing it now while we are still childless would be best.
Gio talked to me about going back about 6 weeks ago. He really wanted to take some photography and business classes so that he could do his own photo shoots and better the business. He asked me if it would be a good idea of he went part-time at the school and focused more on the business and going to school. I think it will be a great thing for him to be able to spend more time at the salon, get his education to better the buisness and himself. The great thing about it is that he will be only working 2 days a week at the school, going to school 3 days a week, and working more hours at the salon and he will be making more money than if he didn't go to school at all. He recieved the GI Bill from the military so his school will be paid for and he will be getting a cost of living check each month so that he can focus more on school work! We are both a little nervous to get back into the school thing but also very excited. I think that it will give us something better to focus on besides our jobs that we both love so much right now! Wish Us Luck!

Gio and I opened a hair salon about 18 months ago. It's a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon. It is very edgy and modern so both Men and Women feel really comfortable here! Gio is very picky about making things universal. Since he is the one running the business he made sure it would be a place he would feel comfortable working all day. Gio loves his career and is very passionate about what he does. He keeps himself well educated and loves learning new techniques. If you want to check out the salon you can click on the logo to the side or go to our website www.gianniinternational.com and take a virtual tour, check out phot shoots, and also look at pricing!

The BOILS are Back in Town! :(

This is Gio once again at the hospital with a Boil on his Bum!

For those of you who hadn't heard about 6 weeks ago Gio had a Boil about the size of a dime on his left cheek. It was very painful and he had to have it lanced and packed with gauze every other day for about 2 1/2 weeks. It left a healthy scar and now it has resurfaced. Although this one is not ad big it is still just as painful and he is very afraid he will be cut open again. We think we caught it early enough but only time will tell. For now he has a swollen tender bum and is on anti-biotics to kill the bacteria. Poor Stinky :(
