Gabi Update.... 18 months old!

BEWARE..... this is an extremely long post! lots of pictures! I've been working on it for the last month and it just kept getting bigger so keep in mind it is also not in very good order! if you make it through it i guess you had nothing better to do! haha! but enjoy!

So its been a while since I have had a Gabi update, and my have things started to change with her lately!

She is now 18 months old! can you believe that! I can't! her 18 months stats are:

Weight: 18 lbs 6 oz (0.24%)

Height: 29.38 inches (4.08%)

Head circumference: 17.13 inches (1.18%)

She's still on the charts!!! Barely but still there!

 Gabi is such a tease she loves to play "pass the baby" back and forth jumping from my arms to Gio's without any notice or hesitation of us dropping her on her head. But in the middle of it she likes to turn back around and squeal with excitement that she tricked us! its one of her favorite games! She also loves to play peek-a boo, when she is on our bed she will bury her head into our pillows and giggles like crazy when we pretend we cant find her! The other day we pulled our covers over her head and played peek-a boo with her she got so excited that she darted under the covers and crawled right off the end of the bed! It happened so fast and all I could do was laugh because she was hanging upside down on her head wondering what the heck just happened! Good thing the covers slowed her fall!

Gabi is such a social butterfly. She is not shy one bit and gives out kisses to anyone who crosses her gaze. she loves making the noise when she puckers her big lips and it sounds like "bah" instead of Muah! she is also really good at blowing kisses and will blow them to any one who says goodbye to her!

Gabi loves to clap whenever she does something new. if you tell her good job she claps for herself and if she hears others clapping she will join in too!

Gabi is into everything lately. She loves pulling open drawers and cupboards and pulling what she can out. her favorite places are the Tupperware drawer in the kitchen, the refrigerator, the entertainment center doors with all the movies in them, and my bottom bathroom drawer with our extra q-tips, Cotton ball, tampons and pads. I never knew someone could be so entertained by a maxi pad. i think i have them scattered all over our house and i find them in the drawers, tubs and anywhere else she can think of! i had to stop buying tampons with paper wrappers because she was sucking the paper off of them! if she manages to get them open she is a happy camper! so weird! needless to say my bathroom is always a disaster! another favorite thing for her to do is pull out all the baby wipes from the case (as seen below) and she likes to poor out her sippy cups and bottles onto the floor. Gabi still doesn't hold her own bottle, not because she can't but because when she is free with it she gets an evil look in her eye and dumps it upside down as soon as she can! she is a devious one for sure! silent and deadly I'm afraid!

Gabi is very independent. she rarely lets me feed her anymore she wants to do it herself. I am totally fine with it most of the time because i can lock her up and keep her busy feeding herself while i rush to get as much done as i can before the tornado comes following behind me! the only downfall is its a mess!

Gabi LOVES to walk! My back just wishes she was doing it by herself! She is fast too! she has to be going where she wants and at the pace she wants or she throws herself onto the floor and has a tantrum! Good thing they never last long! We have had a physical therapist come to our home the last 3 months to help Gabi and each time she has come she has left us with a new tool/toy for her to use. I currently have 5 push toys in my living room as we speak! this one below is the newest one and it seems to help her the most as far as keeping her posture upright. she also likes it because she can go fast but she still has a hard time steering in the right direction.

The picture above is the proper way for her to use it but as you can see she has more steering control when she pushes it backward! She is so smart! but unfortunately we have to try and keep her facing forward for now so that she gets more and more comfortable standing straight up.

If you ever come to my house and look in any mirror you are sure to find finger prints, dried up slobber, and kiss marks all over them! Gabi loves to stand at the mirror and talk to herself and give her reflection kisses! She is fascinated by her reflection!

She has defiantly turned into a toddler and it makes me so sad that the baby stage is over. it really goes by too quickly. Gabi loves to sit on a blanket with her snacks and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It is by far her favorite show, which makes me that much more excited to take her to Disneyland next fall! She loves the music the most and you can count on her doing the hot dog dance Gabi style when ever it comes on!

With Gabi turning into a Toddler she has also developed an attitude! The picture below cracks me up because that day she was not happy with ANYTHING!!! she wouldn't sleep, eat, let me touch her, play with her...NOTHING and this is the look she gave me all day long! I was frightened that my sweet happy baby girl had turned into a monster! Luckily it only happens on occasion and I believe a big part of it has to do with teething, she now has her 4 front teeth (2 on top, 2 on bottom) and four molars! she has a top and bottom molar on each side so she can just about eat anything with no problem!

Gabi has started to communicate more and more! She says Mom, dad, and Yeah and she does about 10 signs! I love baby signing time! I tried to capture her doing each sign in a picture but she wasn't really feeling it that day!

{Since these pictures she has learned "milk" and she points to her eyes, nose, mouth and ears when you ask her where they are. she also will shake her hand with her pointer finger out and that means "No No!" she learned that from Dad because he does that to her when she is being naughty!}

The last few weeks of summer Gabi was able to go swimming lots with her cousins, and play in the park, she still LOVES water and I think she is going to be an Olympic swimmer! she already has the motions of it down and she loves it! She loves following her cousins around and being part of the group. She thinks she is so big!

This is Gabi at the pool and she was swimming like a frog in the shallow water. she got going so good that she started swallowing water and blowing bubbles! shes a natural!

Grandma Martha recently got back from Mexico and brought Gabi some authentic Mexican dresses she's such a cute little Mamacita!

I am So proud of Gabi and I am still amazed by her every day! She puts life in perspective and helps me to remember the important things in life! Nothing is better than the love I feel from her and I am truly blessed to have her in my life each day!
